Hsinchu, Taiwan, December 03, 2025 — Microelectronics Technology Inc. (MTI) is pleased to announce a new strategic partnership Microcom to jointly support the NTIA NOFO2 Open RAN development program. The project is funded by the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund (PWSCIF), which aims to promote wireless innovation, foster competition, and enhance supply chain resilience. Building on MTI’s ongoing work under the NTIA NOFO2 grant, the collaboration will accelerate delivery of high-performance, energy-efficient Open RAN radio units for mobile network operators worldwide.

- Amplifying NOFO2 Impact
MTI was selected by the U.S. National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) as one of seven awardees under its NOFO2 program, receiving near US$ 35 million in funding from the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund. - Strategic Complementarity
MTI will integrate its Open RAN radio unit (ORU) with third-party distributed units (DU) and centralized units (CU), leveraging Microcom’s radio system expertise to enhance performance, reduce power consumption, and improve interoperability. - Test & Validation Collaboration
MTI and Microcom will jointly validate critical performance KPIs in real-world 5G Open RAN deployments at integration labs. - Accelerating Global Scale
By combining MTI’s strong hardware capabilities and Microcom’s radio systems competencies, the partnership aims to deliver next-generation, field-deployable Open RAN solutions for operators in the U.S. and international markets. - Supporting Supply Chain Resilience
